Book Lufthansa Allegris Business Class on the 787-9 Now

Lufthansa has announced that certification of its new Allegris business class on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner has advanced significantly. Except for three seats in the second row, the new seats are expected to be approved sooner than initially anticipated. As a result, for travel beginning March 29 — in time for the start of the summer flight schedule — 25 of the total 28 Allegris seats are now open for booking.

Earlier, the Lufthansa Group had indicated that the new seats would be bookable starting April 15. With the expedited approval, Allegris business class on the 787-9 can now be reserved for late-March departures with only minimal restrictions. At least 10 Dreamliners are expected to be in service from Frankfurt (FRA) at that time. Opening bookings for 25 Allegris seats means that more than 200 additional premium seats in this new configuration will be offered for sale each day.

Initially from Frankfurt, Allegris-equipped 787-9s will serve Austin (AUS), Rio de Janeiro (GIG), Bogotá (BOG), Cape Town (CPT), Shanghai (PVG), Hyderabad (HYD) and Hong Kong (HKG) when the summer schedule begins. From June, New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX) will be added, with Delhi (DEL) planned for July. The Dreamliner will also operate on routes to Toronto (YYZ), Montréal (YUL), Lagos (LOS) and Malabo (SSG); some of those services will feature the Allegris cabin while others may use a different configuration at first.

The Boeing 787-9 has been flying with the Allegris interior from Frankfurt since October 9, 2025. Nine new aircraft have already arrived in Frankfurt, with 20 more on order. Lufthansa aims to operate a total of 29 Allegris-equipped 787-9s by the end of 2027, expanding its long-haul premium offering and increasing availability of the new business class seats across its network.
