The hotel offers 54 thoughtfully decorated bedrooms, with several rooms retaining original exposed beams that reflect the building’s long history. Many guestrooms and suites provide sweeping views of the sea and surrounding mountains. The Garden wing features authentic period rooms shaped by the castle’s distinctive architecture, giving guests a sense of stepping back in time.
Dining at Ballygally Castle includes a range of on-site options such as afternoon tea, The Lounge and The Garden Restaurant. The Garden Restaurant serves contemporary and classic Irish dishes—think slow-cooked Irish beef and oven-baked sea trout—paired with views of the castle gardens. In The Lounge, guests can enjoy cocktails or beers and indulge in a traditional afternoon tea selection of finger sandwiches, cakes, pastries and a variety of teas.

To mark the redesign, the hotel has introduced a special package that highlights the best of the property. The Sea Dips & Hot Sips offer encourages guests to take an invigorating swim in the sea and return to the castle for warming comforts and thoughtful extras. The package includes overnight accommodation, a full Irish breakfast, complimentary parking, complimentary WiFi, and a loan of dry robes, hot water bottles and Thermos flasks filled with tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
Ballygally Castle is also a practical base for exploring the Causeway Coast. The hotel is a little over an hour’s drive from iconic attractions such as the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle and the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, making day trips simple and convenient.

Fans of Game of Thrones will find an added point of interest at Ballygally Castle: a door that echoes imagery from season six’s “Battle of the Bastards” episode, featuring motifs associated with House Stark and House Bolton. Guests can view this door as part of the broader Journey of Doors experience that highlights locations in Northern Ireland connected to the series.
