Virgin Atlantic has teamed up with celebrity chef and master pâtissier Eric Lanlard to design a bespoke afternoon tea menu for the Virgin Atlantic London Heathrow Clubhouse and for day flights across its network.
At the Heathrow Clubhouse, afternoon tea is served daily from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. Guests can choose between a pot of freshly brewed tea or a glass of Lanson Rosé Champagne. The offering features a carefully curated selection presented on a bespoke stand, including savory tea sandwiches, freshly baked scones, an assortment of cakes and delicate pastries.
From late summer, the high tea experience will also be available to passengers in all Virgin Atlantic cabins. The in-flight selection will include handcrafted sandwiches, warm scones and an assortment of macarons, all created to capture the home-baked quality and finesse of Lanlard’s patisserie work.
“Virgin Atlantic is renowned for its award-winning food and drink, and this year we’re elevating that reputation even further. We’re delighted to collaborate with Eric Lanlard and introduce a refreshed take on afternoon tea in our Heathrow Clubhouse from April, followed by our onboard service from late summer. It’s Eric’s first partnership with an airline, and our customers are going to appreciate the upgrade,” said Daniel Kerzner, vice president of customer experience, Virgin Atlantic.
Eric Lanlard added, “I’m thrilled to be part of this partnership and to combine my passion for baking with the experience of air travel. Partnering with a bold and iconic brand like Virgin Atlantic is a perfect fit. Our aim is to bring the charm of afternoon tea both on the ground at the Heathrow Clubhouse and in the skies.”
