Baja AirVentures introduces a new program, the Best of Baja’s Whales, Dolphins & Sea Lions Tour, offering a carefully curated six-day marine wildlife experience. The trip includes private round-trip air from San Diego (SAN), comfortable accommodations, and multiple guided outings to observe marine mammals in their natural habitats. Knowledgeable naturalists and experienced guides lead all activities, providing educational commentary and ensuring close, responsible encounters with marine life.
The itinerary features a private flight to Scammons Lagoon where guests spend time with migrating California gray whales. An aerial tour over Laguna Ojo de Libre, Scammons Lagoon, and the Midriff Islands in the Sea of Cortez adds spectacular vantage points for spotting whales and other marine animals. On the ground and on the water, participants can enjoy bird watching, kayaking, hiking, and snorkeling with sea lions and dolphins, all under the guidance of expert staff.
Trips depart every Monday and select Tuesdays in February and March. Pricing starts at $2,795 per person based on double occupancy; Mexican tax and marine park entrance fees are not included. The package includes lodging, round-trip air from San Diego, boat transportation, guided outings and lectures, water activities, hiking, and meals and beverages (including beer and margaritas).
Accommodations are provided at the remote Las Animas Wilderness Eco-Lodge, the Baja coast’s only boat-in lodge. Guests stay in beachfront yurts, each outfitted with a private bathroom, solar shower, covered deck, skylight roof, and queen- or king-sized bedding. A central palapa deck functions as the camp’s dining area, viewing platform, and shared lounge space, offering panoramic views and a relaxed communal setting.
This program emphasizes small groups, knowledgeable guides, and a balance of adventure and comfort, making it an appealing option for travelers seeking an immersive, respectful marine wildlife experience in Baja.
