American Airlines is expanding its network with several new international and domestic routes. Beginning May 3, 2019, the carrier will add daily service from Miami (MIA) to Santiago de Cuba (SCU), bringing American’s Cuba network to six destinations.
On June 6, 2019, American will launch its first-ever service to Durango (DGO), Mexico, with daily nonstop flights from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW). These new services make American the only U.S. airline flying to these specific destinations.
Additional international additions in early June include new daily flights between New York LaGuardia (LGA) and Aruba (AUA) beginning June 8, and new service from Charlotte (CLT) to Santo Domingo (SDQ) in the Dominican Republic effective June 8. American will also operate seasonal flights between Dallas-Fort Worth and Santo Domingo from June 8 through August 17. In Central America, the airline will add seasonal service to two Honduran cities: San Pedro Sula (SAP) from June 7 through August 17 and Tegucigalpa (TGU) from June 6 through August 20.
American is also increasing domestic connectivity out of its Dallas-Fort Worth hub. In March, the airline will introduce daily, year-round service from DFW to several regional airports: Augusta Regional Airport in Georgia, Gainesville Regional Airport in Florida, Yuma International Airport in Arizona, and Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield, California.
In April, American will add additional nonstop options from DFW, enabled by the airport’s expansion and 15 new gates. Seasonal daily service will begin between DFW and Monterey Regional Airport in California, and the carrier will introduce nonstop flights to Flagstaff Pulliam Airport in Arizona and Hollywood Burbank Airport in California.
These route additions strengthen American Airlines’ domestic and international reach, particularly from the Dallas-Fort Worth hub, and provide more nonstop options for travelers to the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, and several regional U.S. destinations.
