Marriott has opened the AC Hotel New York Times Square, a 290-room property located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.
The hotel’s design centers on an airy, open lobby with 23-foot ceilings and a dramatic staircase. Guestrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and select rooms include private balconies. Throughout the property, local artwork — from sculptures to paintings — enhances public spaces, while architecture draws on contemporary European influences. Exterior and hardscape materials include a granite-paved plaza, a pleated glass façade and Venetian terrazzo finishes.
Dining and social options on site include Boqueria, a Spanish tapas and spirits restaurant, and Castell, a year-round rooftop lounge serving both guests and locals. Castell is scheduled to open later this month.
“We are delighted to introduce New York City to the AC brand’s ‘New Way to Hotel,’” said Corry Oakes, president and CEO of OTO Development, the Johnson Management company that developed and operates the hotel. “Beyond intriguing architectural details, local artwork in common spaces and dynamic culinary options at Boqueria and Castell Lounge, guests will truly appreciate having space to breathe in this city that never sleeps.”
Benoit Racle, global brand leader for AC Hotels by Marriott, added: “At AC Hotels, everything is done with intention while creating harmony — we believe if we have time to make it, we have time to make it beautiful. We are pleased to welcome AC Hotel New York Times Square as our first property in New York City, offering visitors and locals in Manhattan a tranquil space to relax, reflect and reset.”
This location is the first of two AC Hotels by Marriott planned for Manhattan this year, with a second property slated to open in the Financial District.
