MSC Cruises is expanding its presence in North America by offering year-round sailings on MSC Divina from Miami to the Caribbean beginning this fall. Starting in November, the elegant and modern MSC Divina will operate Caribbean itineraries from Miami after completing its season in the Mediterranean.
“North America is a key market for MSC Cruises as the company works to double its capacity by 2022,” said Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises. “Since MSC Divina first arrived in Miami in November 2013, we’ve seen strong market growth and growing demand from both travelers and travel agents for year‑round sailings from North America. We’re excited to meet that demand and offer more opportunities for North American guests to experience the distinctive ‘Mediterranean Style Cruise’ that only MSC Cruises provides.”
The new schedule, covering April 2016 through March 2017, will alternate between Eastern and Western Caribbean routes with calls at destinations including St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Mexico and the Bahamas. These itineraries are designed to showcase a variety of Caribbean highlights while maintaining MSC’s signature onboard service and Mediterranean flair.
Demonstrating the company’s long-term commitment to the region, MSC Cruises also announced that MSC Seaside, set to debut in November 2017, will operate year-round from Miami to the Caribbean. To support expanded operations, MSC Cruises’ Miami-based services will benefit from a newly renovated and enlarged dedicated berth and terminal at PortMiami, improving embarkation and disembarkation for guests and enhancing overall cruise logistics.
With these additions, MSC Cruises is strengthening its footprint in the Caribbean market, offering travelers more itinerary choices and consistent seasonal service from a major North American gateway. Guests sailing from Miami can expect a blend of contemporary ship design, varied shore excursions, and the relaxed, hospitality-focused atmosphere that defines MSC’s approach to cruising.
