Hyatt expanded its Unbound Collection on June 20 with the addition of Royal Palms Resort and Spa. According to Steve Haggerty, global head of real estate and capital strategy at Hyatt, “The Royal Palms Resort and Spa is an ideal fit for The Unbound Collection by Hyatt given the hotel’s prominent positioning in the market and its ability to create experiences for our guests.”
Situated between Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, the property reflects Spanish and Mediterranean architectural influences. Originally built in 1929 as a private residence, Royal Palms now features 119 guestrooms, suites and villas alongside more than 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Guests can enjoy an acclaimed spa, a two-story fitness center, a variety of dining options, and Tuscan-style gardens and groves that contribute to the resort’s distinctive atmosphere.
Haggerty noted that adding Royal Palms demonstrates Hyatt’s commitment to growing the Unbound Collection and strengthening the brand’s presence in key travel markets. The Unbound Collection, which launched in February, brings together individually styled hotels that retain their unique character while providing Hyatt’s loyalty benefits and operational standards.
Royal Palms joins a curated group of properties in the Unbound Collection. Other members include The Confidante, Driskill Hotel, Hôtel du Louvre, Carmelo Resort & Spa and Coco Palms Resort. Each property maintains its own identity and local flavor, yet all participate in Hyatt’s loyalty program and share the company’s operational support, ensuring consistent service and amenities for travelers.
The Royal Palms Resort and Spa’s history, architecture and array of amenities make it a natural addition to a collection focused on memorable, one-of-a-kind hotel experiences. With extensive event space and resort-style offerings, the property appeals to leisure guests seeking relaxation in a garden-like setting as well as to groups and meetings planners looking for distinctive venues.
By bringing Royal Palms into the Unbound Collection, Hyatt expands options for both domestic and international travelers who value unique design, authentic local character and reliable hospitality standards. The resort’s combination of historic roots, thoughtful design and modern amenities aligns with the collection’s aim to offer independent-feeling hotels backed by Hyatt’s global platform.
