Red Fish Grill Celebrates Its Three Millionth Oyster in New Orleans

If you’re headed to New Orleans, make time to visit the French Quarter and taste the fresh seafood at Red Fish Grill, where Executive Chef Austin Kirzner’s barbecued oysters have become a local obsession. The dish is so popular the restaurant is about to serve its 3 millionth barbecued oyster, and there’s a surprise celebration for the lucky diner who places that order.

Can’t make it in person? You can enter online to be part of the celebration and, if you like, share your favorite oyster recipe.

The eclectic Bourbon Street restaurant is also known for its lively, original décor: hand-painted tables, oversized oyster mirrors and a ceiling filled with metal fish “swimming” overhead. If oysters aren’t your preference, the menu still offers plenty to enjoy. Chef Kirzner features classic local dishes such as BBQ crawfish waffles, alligator sausage, seafood gumbo, double-chocolate bread pudding and Southern fried peach pie.
