Customize Your Four Seasons Bed: Personalized Comfort Options

A recent study by Four Seasons and Ipsos, surveying travelers from the U.S., U.K., Russia and China, highlights how varied sleep preferences can be. In response, Four Seasons has introduced a personalized Four Seasons bed that can be tailored to a guest’s individual comfort preferences during their stay.

Created in collaboration with Simmons, the mattress offers adjustable firmness settings that can be changed within minutes to provide three distinct levels of support. At its core is gel-touch foam technology designed to dissipate excess heat and help maintain an optimal body temperature for deeper, more restorative sleep. Guests also have access to a selection of pillows and bedside amenities to further customize their sleep environment.

The commissioned Ipsos study underscores a growing demand for customization among travelers. Key findings include:

  • 92 percent of travelers express a clear preference for mattress firmness.
  • Half of respondents prefer a medium-firm bed, 28 percent favor a firm mattress, and 14 percent choose a soft option.
  • Bedtime routines vary by region: Russian and Chinese travelers often enjoy a hot bath or shower before sleep, British travelers commonly read in bed, and many Americans prefer watching television before turning in.
  • 72 percent of travelers tend to sleep on the same side of the bed they use at home, indicating the importance of familiar sleep setups while traveling.

By combining adjustable firmness, temperature-regulating foam and a range of pillows and amenities, the Four Seasons personalized bed aims to deliver a consistent, comfortable sleep experience that respects each guest’s individual preferences. This approach reflects a broader trend in luxury hospitality toward bespoke services that anticipate and adapt to traveler needs, improving rest and overall satisfaction during overnight stays.
