Luxury Hotel on Rodeo Drive — Downtown Beverly Hills Stay

Arrival/Check-In: The Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel’s entrance sits beneath a bright red awning on Beverly Hills’ iconic Rodeo Drive, positioned between the Michael Kors and Rolex stores. Valet attendants assisted with our car, collected our luggage and directed us inside. Stepping from the bright sunlight into the lobby’s long, slightly sloped entrance ramp—painted a dramatic black—took a moment to adjust. The check-in desk at the rear of the lobby greeted us with a friendly clerk who explained the Luxe Club benefits ($35 per guest, per night) and quickly had us on our way to our room. Along the corridor we glimpsed the lounge area, where libations and light bites are offered beside comfortable seating. Soon after we arrived, our luggage was delivered and a hotel representative arrived with a welcome tray of macarons, bottled water and a bottle of California Cabernet Sauvignon—a pleasant touch.

Guest Quarters: Our superior room measured just over 180 square feet and felt compact yet comfortable, decorated in a calming palette of soft greens, beiges and grays. A roomy closet to the left of the entrance contained a safe, an ironing board and iron, two plush bathrobes and plenty of sturdy wooden hangers. The queen-sized bed, dressed in quality linens and a cozy duvet, provided an excellent night’s sleep. A bedside table and lamp occupied one side of the bed, with a moderate desk and straight-backed chair on the other. Both surfaces included USB ports and electrical outlets, along with an Apple docking station and an in-room tablet for guest use. Opposite the bed, a comfortable armchair sat beside a credenza with drawers, a fully stocked minibar and a Keurig coffeemaker. A 42-inch flatscreen TV was mounted above.

The bathroom felt a bit tight for two. Mirrors covered the upper half of two walls, creating an illusion of greater space, but the pedestal sink and a narrow 6-inch marble shelf running along two sides offered limited room for toiletries. The tub/shower combination included a rain showerhead; water pressure was generally adequate though hot water availability varied at different times of day. Nü Natüra bath amenities provided a mild, clean scent that appealed to both men and women.

Services/Amenities: Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel. The Luxe Club fee grants access to the lobby-level lounge’s food and beverage offerings for most of the day. Continental breakfast includes hot entrées; lunchtime typically features a housemade soup and sandwiches; and evening service offers hors d’oeuvres paired with a selection of beers, wines, soft drinks and cocktails. Both the food and service were consistently high quality.

Although the Luxe Rodeo Drive does not have a traditional pool, The 360 Rooftop provides an inviting outdoor space for sun or shade. The rooftop also hosts the fitness center, which includes free weights, weight machines and cardio equipment positioned under a canopy so guests can enjoy views while using stationary bikes, ellipticals or treadmills. Spa services from The Spa on Rodeo—such as massages and facials—can be arranged either in-room or in the rooftop treatment rooms.

The hotel’s meeting and event facilities can accommodate groups from about 10 up to 120 guests, offering AV equipment, catering options and event planning support for gatherings and functions.
