Conrad Centennial Singapore: Luxury Hotel on Marina Bay

Arrival/Check-In: I arrived at the Conrad after 2 a.m., about 24 hours later than planned. The lobby was well staffed even at that hour and provided a warm welcome to Singapore. As an executive-floor guest, I appreciated the complimentary pressing of a few items on the day of arrival—a thoughtful perk after a long journey.

Guest Quarters: My executive room was located on the 31st floor, the top floor of the building, offering expansive windows with striking views of Marina Bay and the Singapore Flyer. The contemporary room included modern amenities suited to tired travelers: a large 46-inch Sony Bravia LCD TV mounted above a home theater system and wooden credenza, and a spacious work area with a large desk and convenient U.S. outlets. In-room WiFi required a fee, though complimentary internet access was available in the Executive Lounge on the same floor.

The king-sized bed was dressed in high-quality linens and pillows and paired with blackout curtains, creating a restful environment that helped me adjust quickly to the time zone. The bathroom included a separate bathtub and shower, a large vanity, and a generous assortment of Acca Kappa toiletries.

Services/Amenities: Staying on the executive floor gave me full access to the Executive Lounge, where I enjoyed sweeping city views and a deluxe Champagne breakfast. The lounge also offers afternoon tea and evening cocktails with canapés for executive-level guests, which I regretted missing. Multiple meeting rooms on the same floor made it easy to hold quick strategy sessions with colleagues.

One of the highlights was dining at the hotel’s Golden Peony restaurant. The dining room is attractively decorated with traditional Asian artwork and teak screens. I sampled several contemporary Cantonese courses, with the double-boiled pumpkin soup standing out as a favorite.

The hotel’s 24-hour fitness center was a convenient place to start the day. I didn’t have time to visit the Centennial Spa or the large outdoor pool on this trip, both of which are excellent reasons to return.

The Experience: My stay at Conrad Centennial Singapore was highly satisfying. The hotel blends Western conveniences with attentive local service and style, delivering a comfortable and polished experience.
