Singapore Airlines Launches Network-Wide In-Flight Meal Pre-Order Service

Singapore Airlines has become the first airline worldwide to offer network-wide meal pre-ordering for passengers traveling in first-class and business-class suites. The carrier also plans to expand the service to premium economy in the near future.

Initially introduced on flights to and from North Asia during a soft launch last fall, the meal pre-order feature lets travelers view the in-flight menu for their specific flight on the Singapore Airlines website and select main courses in advance. Meal choices are available for pre-order starting three weeks before departure and up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight time.

“The response to our soft launch of the new meal pre-ordering service was very encouraging, and we are now pleased to offer it to all premium-class customers traveling across our global network,” said Yeoh Phee Teik, senior vice president of customer experience at Singapore Airlines.

He added that the service represents another industry-first for the airline and reflects its ongoing commitment to improving products and services, with a stronger emphasis on personalization both on the ground and in the air.

This new option complements Singapore Airlines’ existing Book the Cook program, which allows customers on select flights to pre-order main courses from an extensive menu of 68 entrées. Together, the programs give premium passengers greater choice and the convenience of securing preferred meals ahead of time.

By enabling advance selection of meals across its global network, Singapore Airlines aims to enhance the onboard experience, reduce meal waste, and better match catering to customer preferences. The airline’s phased rollout and planned extension to premium economy suggest broader availability in the coming months, further aligning its culinary service with modern expectations for personalization and convenience.
