Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with Mohammed Ibrahim Al Subeaei & Sons Investment Company to manage the upcoming 180-room Swissôtel Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia.
The hotel is scheduled to open in 2019 as part of the MASIC Business Park development, a 592,000-square-foot mixed-use project of retail and office space in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province.
Swissôtel Al Khobar will feature 180 guestrooms and more than 14,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. Guests will have access to several food and beverage outlets, the Pürovel Spa & Sport wellness concept, an outdoor rooftop pool, and 20 luxury residential apartments within the property.
This project represents FRHI Hotels & Resorts’ first managed property tied to Saudi Arabia’s oil sector. Situated in Al Khobar, the hotel will be conveniently located near Dhahran City and the headquarters of Saudi Aramco.
Swissôtel Al Khobar is part of a wider expansion for FRHI in Saudi Arabia and the region. FRHI currently has multiple hotels in development across the Kingdom, including Swissôtel, Raffles and Fairmont properties in Jeddah and Fairmont Riyadh, Business Gate. Over the next five years, Swissôtel-branded hotels are also planned to open in the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.
Across the Middle East, Africa and India, FRHI operates 19 hotels with more than 7,000 guestrooms and has an additional 19 hotels under development, underscoring the company’s ongoing regional growth strategy.
