Qatar Airways Launches Dreamliner Flights to India: Routes & Dates

Qatar Airways will introduce Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to India starting September 1. The airline plans daily Dreamliner rotations between Doha (DOH) and two major Indian cities: Delhi (DEL) and Bangalore (BLR). Each 254-seat Dreamliner will feature 22 business class seats and 232 economy seats, offering an updated onboard experience for travelers on these routes.

Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, commented on the rollout: “As part of our ongoing commitment to deliver an exceptional travel experience, we are pleased to bring the Dreamliner to two important Indian routes. We are confident our customers flying to and from Delhi and Bangalore will appreciate the enhanced comfort and amenities on board the Boeing 787.”

The deployment to India expands Qatar Airways’ existing Dreamliner network. The airline already operates the Boeing 787 to several international destinations, and the aircraft is currently scheduled on routes including Dubai (DXB), London (LHR), Munich (MUC), Stockholm (ARN), Riyadh (RUH), Jeddah (JED), Zurich (ZRH) and Frankfurt (FRA). Additional planned launches include service to Oslo (OSL) and Copenhagen (CPH) beginning in September.

The Dreamliner is designed for improved passenger comfort, with features such as higher cabin humidity, larger windows, and reduced cabin altitude, which together can contribute to a more pleasant flight experience. For travelers between Doha and India, the aircraft change represents an upgrade in onboard amenities and seating configuration.

Qatar Airways’ decision to introduce the Dreamliner on these routes reflects the airline’s broader fleet strategy and ongoing adjustments to meet passenger demand and route requirements. By assigning the 787 to daily services to Delhi and Bangalore, Qatar is signaling a focus on capacity and comfort for two of its key Indian markets.

Passengers planning travel on the Doha–Delhi and Doha–Bangalore sectors after September 1 should check their bookings for aircraft updates and seat availability. As with any fleet change, travelers may notice differences in cabin layout, seat types, and in-flight amenities compared with previous equipment used on these routes.
