Situated on a quiet, intimate street in the heart of the city, the hotel will feature 103 rooms and suites designed by Lemon Interior Design, showcasing a refined and contemporary aesthetic. Guests will enjoy a range of amenities including a swimming pool, a luxury spa and elevated dining options curated by world-class chefs, offering a culinary program that highlights local flavors and international influences.
Mondrian Bucharest will be located in downtown Bucharest, close to the historic Romanian Athenaeum. Built in 1888, the 800-seat Athenaeum hosts many of the city’s major cultural events. Combining modern innovation with respect for tradition, Mondrian Bucharest aims to introduce a fresh perspective to the capital’s hospitality scene while complementing the city’s cultural landmarks.

“This partnership represents a milestone for our company, marking our debut in Bucharest’s hospitality market and a significant step in redefining the local luxury hotel offering,” said Victor Căpitanu, co-founder and co-CEO of One United Properties. “For the first time in Romania we are introducing an internationally renowned brand in Mondrian, which will become a city landmark, raise awareness of Romanian culture on the international stage and support tourism development in Bucharest.”
Led by Lemon Interior Design, the hotel’s concept draws on Romanian tradition, taking inspiration from the classic fairytale Youth Without Age and Life Without Death. The design will reinterpret cultural motifs in a contemporary way to create an immersive and locally rooted guest experience.

Mondrian Hotels are known for their emphasis on art, design and culture, featuring distinctive interiors, immersive art installations and inventive culinary programs—hallmarks expected to shape the Bucharest property. The hotel is slated to open in 2026 and aims to bring a new benchmark of lifestyle hospitality to the city.
