Virgin Hotels Unveils New Las Vegas Resort and Casino

Virgin Hotels acquired the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas last month and, with several partners, plans to reopen the property as Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in late 2019. The resort remains open and operating under its current name while extensive, multimillion-dollar renovations are underway across guestrooms, restaurants and public spaces.

“Las Vegas has long held a special place in my heart,” said Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group. “Virgin Atlantic and Virgin America have enjoyed flying to Las Vegas for years and I’ve always known that Virgin Hotels could thrive there as well. I’m really looking forward to painting the town Virgin red.”

The redesigned hotel will feature 1,504 guestrooms and suites, a 60,000-square-foot casino, multiple pool areas, a variety of dining and nightlife venues, and the Commons Club, a flagship social and dining space unique to the Virgin Hotels brand.

“Las Vegas is a dynamic city — the people, the excitement, the entertainment. To me, it’s always been the perfect city for our next Virgin Hotel,” said Raul Leal, CEO of Virgin Hotels. “We are committed to delivering outstanding design, memorable entertainment, genuine service and culinary excellence, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to what promises to be an extraordinary Las Vegas destination.”
