Alaska Airlines has opened its first Alaska Lounge on the East Coast at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Located on the mezzanine level of Terminal 7, the lounge is available to Alaska guests passing through or departing from Terminal 7 who purchase a day pass, hold a lounge membership, or are traveling first class.
The space is designed like a comfortable living room, with multiple seating areas that accommodate both business and leisure travelers. Trained Starbucks baristas prepare custom coffee and tea beverages, including a full menu of barista-pulled handcrafted espresso drinks. Food offerings are casual and fresh: mornings feature items such as oatmeal and yogurt bars, while afternoons and evenings include lighter options like salads and soups. The bar menu highlights signature cocktails, a selection of microbrews, and West Coast wines.
“We’re always looking to create warm, welcoming experiences for our guests,” said Brett Catlin, managing director, guest products, Alaska Airlines. “Our newest Alaska Lounge at JFK reflects the future of our lounge offering — a signature West Coast vibe, unique beverage selections and a focus on fresh, healthy food options. We’re also thrilled to be the first domestic lounge to introduce a full menu of barista-pulled handcrafted espresso beverages.”
The lounge opening coincides with Alaska Airlines’ expansion of service at JFK, including new non-stop flights between JFK and San Jose, California (SJC), and the addition of a third daily flight to Seattle (SEA). Alaska currently operates 14 daily flights through JFK.
