American Express and Delta Launch Limited-Edition Boeing 747 Credit Card Design

Imagine carrying a piece of aviation history in your wallet: American Express and Delta Air Lines have turned that idea into reality. The companies unveiled a limited-edition credit card created using metal from a retired Delta Boeing 747, marking the first credit card to incorporate material from an actual aircraft.

The launch was celebrated with a media event at Delta’s Atlanta headquarters. The evening began with a cocktail hour in one hangar and continued with dinner inside a retired 747 that has been transformed into an event space, offering guests a tangible connection to the aircraft that inspired the card’s design.

The card is offered exclusively to Delta SkyMiles Reserve and Reserve Business card members and is available only through Aug. 3 while supplies last. Each card contains 25 percent metal from Delta Ship #6307, a gesture intended to honor the legacy of the Boeing 747. Beyond the physical material, card members gain access to exclusive augmented reality content that explores the 747’s history, includes interviews with Delta pilots and crew, and shows how parts of the plane were reimagined as this collectible card design.

“For over 60 years, American Express and Delta have partnered together to deliver world-class experiences for our shared customers through industry-leading service, value, and access. Today, we’re celebrating our latest innovation that pays homage to the iconic Boeing 747 by giving Card Members a piece of travel history in their wallet,” said Jon Gantman, senior vice president and general manager, Cobrand Product Management, American Express.

One promotional offer includes earning 100,000 bonus miles after spending $5,000 on the new card within the first three months. These limited offers enhance the collectible nature of the card with meaningful travel value for frequent flyers and loyalty members.
