Turkish Airlines has launched its inaugural direct service between Istanbul (IST) and Boston (BOS), marking Boston as the carrier’s newest U.S. gateway. This new route expands Turkish Airlines’ North American network alongside existing services to Chicago (ORD), Houston (HOU), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK) and Washington, D.C. (IAD).
The new Boston–Istanbul flights will initially operate five times per week in both directions, with departures on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. From June 9, the schedule will increase to daily service, adding Tuesday and Thursday flights to reach seven weekly frequencies.
To introduce the route, Turkish Airlines is offering promotional round-trip fares. Introductory prices start at €399 for travel from Istanbul to Boston, and from Boston to Istanbul starting at $799. These fares provide an affordable option for travelers planning transatlantic trips between the two cities.
In addition to fare promotions, Turkish Airlines is providing an incentive for frequent flyers. For the first six months of the new Boston service, members of the Miles&Smiles loyalty program will receive a 25 percent reduction in the number of miles required to redeem award tickets or upgrades on this route. This temporary benefit makes it easier for members to use accumulated miles for premium travel or seat upgrades.
The new route strengthens connectivity between New England and Turkey, offering more convenient travel options for business travelers, tourists and those visiting friends and family. Travelers in Boston now have direct access to Istanbul’s major airport, which is a global hub connecting Europe, Asia and the Middle East. A direct flight reduces travel time and eliminates the need for transit stops, creating a smoother travel experience for passengers heading onward from Istanbul to destinations across the Turkish Airlines network.
Flight schedules and availability may vary by season and demand. Passengers interested in the introductory fares or the Miles&Smiles mileage reduction are advised to check Turkish Airlines’ published schedules and fare rules when booking. Ticket conditions, baggage allowances and change or cancellation policies remain subject to the airline’s standard terms and may differ depending on fare class purchased.
With connections from Istanbul to numerous international destinations, the Boston route offers expanded options for travelers planning multi-leg itineraries. For many travelers, the direct service will simplify connections to cities across Europe, Africa and Asia that are served from Istanbul. This can be particularly useful for those seeking shorter overall journey times or a single-carrier itinerary for easier baggage handling and coordinated flight connections.
As routes evolve and frequencies increase, travelers should monitor announcements from Turkish Airlines and the relevant airports for any updates, seasonal adjustments or promotional offers. The introduction of direct service between Boston and Istanbul represents a notable expansion of transatlantic flight options and brings greater convenience to passengers traveling between New England and destinations across Turkish Airlines’ global network.
