Delta, Virgin Atlantic, Jet Airways Expand Flight Options for Travelers

Effective last month, Jet Airways customers flying between India and North America can now connect through London Heathrow to nine U.S. destinations: Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Detroit (DTW), Minneapolis (MSP), New York (JFK), Philadelphia (PHL), Portland (PDX), Salt Lake City (SLC) and Seattle (SEA).

Delta and Virgin Atlantic customers traveling between North America and India can connect from North America to Jet Airways flights to Mumbai and Delhi via London Heathrow using Delta codeshare services, with onward connections to additional Indian cities. The expanded Delta codeshare includes Ahmedabad (AMD), Amritsar (ATQ), Bengaluru (BLR), Calicut (CCJ), Chennai (MAA), Cochin (COK), Coimbatore (CJB), Goa (GOI), Hyderabad (HYD), Indore (IDR), Jaipur (JAI), Kolkata (CCU), Lucknow (LKO), Mangalore (IXE), Pune (PNQ), Trivandrum (TRV) and Vadodara (BDQ). These routes build on existing Delta and Jet Airways codeshare agreements to give customers more choices and smoother connections.

“With up to 11,000 people traveling daily between India and North America and growing trade and tourism between the U.S., U.K. and India, we are offering customers more flexible schedule options between North America and India,” said Nat Pieper, senior vice president, Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, Delta Air Lines. “For the first time, travelers can hold a single Delta ticket from North America through London to India, receiving coordinated customer service through to their final destinations.”

In 2017, Virgin Atlantic will broaden its codeshare relationship with Jet Airways by placing its marketing code on Virgin Atlantic-operated flights from London Heathrow to ten cities across North America. Virgin Atlantic already operates a codeshare with Jet Airways on services between five Indian cities and London Heathrow via Delhi (DEL). The expanded codeshares provide travelers with larger route networks, enhanced schedule options and reciprocal mileage earning and redemption opportunities.
