Philippine Airlines has joined the TSA PreCheck program, giving eligible passengers expedited security screening on flights to and from the United States. This marks another Asian carrier approved to participate in the program, following recent additions from the region.
While relatively few non‑U.S. airlines participate in TSA PreCheck, several Asian carriers have been added in recent years, such as Singapore Airlines and Japan’s All Nippon Airways. Philippine Airlines’ inclusion expands options for frequent travelers between the Philippines and the United States who qualify for the program.
Passengers approved for TSA PreCheck use dedicated security lanes and can keep shoes, light jackets and belts on, and leave liquids and laptops in carry‑on bags during screening. Program eligibility includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals and lawful permanent residents, as well as members of trusted traveler programs like Global Entry, SENTRI and NEXUS.
To enroll in TSA PreCheck, applicants complete an online application and attend an in‑person appointment for fingerprinting and a background check. Once approved, membership is valid for five years, after which renewal is required to maintain privileges.
By joining TSA PreCheck, Philippine Airlines aims to streamline the airport experience for qualified travelers, reducing wait times and simplifying the security process on eligible U.S. routes.
