LOT and Turkish Airlines Expand Partnership and Route Network

To support the network expansion announced at this year’s 2015 Global Business Travel Association Convention in Orlando, Fla., LOT Polish Airlines has expanded its commercial partnership with Turkish Airlines to deliver enhanced benefits to passengers.

The airlines first began their cooperation in 2000, codesharing on the Istanbul (IST)–Warsaw (WAW) route. In 2014 they broadened that arrangement to include Turkish Airlines’ services between Istanbul and Amman (AMM), Cairo (CAI) and Ankara (ESB), as well as LOT’s flights linking Vienna (VIE) with Warsaw and Warsaw with Krakow (KRK).

Under the newly extended agreement, both carriers will place their codes on selected flights to domestic destinations in Turkey and Poland, and to cities across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. This expanded codeshare arrangement allows customers to book single-ticket itineraries with convenient connections and stopovers to more global destinations.

“LOT is ready to grow immediately as of 2016, and now is the best moment to strengthen equal cooperation with our key airline partners. LOT and Turkish Airlines have been partners for many years. I am convinced that this letter of understanding will help us to create a unique and global offer. This will give our passengers all advantages of the worldwide and complementary networks of both carriers,” said Sebastian Mikosz, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.

Currently, Turkish Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines operate five weekly flights between Istanbul and Warsaw.
