In June 2026, Guadalajara is one of 16 host cities across Mexico, Canada and the United States selected for the FIFA World Cup 26. Located in Zapopan, a suburb of Guadalajara, the modern Estadio Guadalajara will stage four Group Stage matches on June 11, 18, 23 and 26, 2026. During the regular season the stadium is home to C.D. Guadalajara, the city’s largest football club.
Mexico will play on June 18 at the venue. Opened in 2010, the stadium seats approximately 48,000 spectators and has a proven record of hosting major events, including matches during the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2011 and competitions for the Pan American Games the same year.

The World Cup will attract large numbers of fans to the state of Jalisco, but Guadalajara will also host other major events in 2026. In November the city will welcome ITB Americas, one of the world’s largest travel trade shows, bringing thousands of business visitors from across the Americas and the Caribbean.
ITB Americas covers the full spectrum of travel markets across North, Central and South America and the Caribbean, addressing sectors from adventure and responsible tourism to business travel and travel technology. Exhibitors and attendees will include destinations, tour operators, hotels, tech providers and industry buyers.
Guadalajara is a strategic choice for ITB Americas because of its strong economy, excellent connectivity and well-developed tourism infrastructure. As Mexico’s second-largest city, it offers a modern exhibition and convention center and a wide range of services for international events. The ITB Americas Conference will feature high-profile speakers discussing current industry trends, while targeted networking formats will support buyer-seller meetings and commercial activity. This new edition expands ITB’s global footprint following successful events in cities such as Shanghai, Singapore and Mumbai.

The state of Jalisco will host the ITB Americas venue for the next five years. Organizers estimate the 2026 edition will generate more than $900,000 in hotel revenue and roughly $11.9 million in tourism-related income for the state. Hosting ITB Americas reinforces Jalisco’s position as a premier destination for large-scale international events and underscores the region’s leadership in tourism development at both national and international levels.
