Hawaiian Airlines Launches Upgrade Auction for Premium Seats

Hawaiian Airlines now offers passengers the chance to bid for in-flight upgrades through its new Bid Up service. This auction-style feature lets travelers place bids on available first-class seats on select flights between Hawai‘i and North America.

“We’re extremely excited to introduce Bid Up to our guests. We understand travelers have different options when planning trips to Hawai‘i, which is why we’re committed to providing each guest with unique offerings and exceptional benefits,” said Miranda Scott, managing director, travel products, Hawaiian Airlines.

Bid Up is available to ticketed main cabin passengers whose itinerary includes at least one segment between Hawai‘i and North America. Eligible travelers will receive an email about the open auction 10 days before their scheduled departure. Successful bidders will be notified roughly two days prior to travel.

Passengers who win a first-class seat through Bid Up receive a range of premium amenities, including two complimentary checked bags, expedited check-in, access to premier lounges, priority boarding, elevated dining and unlimited beverage service, as well as complimentary in-flight entertainment. These benefits are designed to enhance comfort and convenience for the duration of the journey.
