Garlic Festivals and Live Music Events in British Columbia

The Salt Spring Music and Garlic Festival returns for its second year on August 6–7, set at Paradise Within Farm on Salt Spring Island’s scenic southern shore overlooking the sea. This relaxed, family-friendly event showcases farm-fresh garlic, local produce and artisanal foods alongside a lively farmer’s market and a variety of food trucks.

Visitors can enjoy two days of live music featuring a diverse lineup of artists. Saturday’s performers include The Odds, Jesse Roper, Petunia & The Vipers, Carmanah, Barefoot Thieves, El Jose Cuban Party, Billie Woods and Daniel Lapp. Sunday’s schedule highlights Valdy & The Hometown Band, Jon & Roy, Shred Kelly, Jennie Allen Trio, The Georgia Basin Beat Collective, Yael Wand, The Fates, Cari Burdette, Maureen Washington and Graham Wardrop.

Beyond music, the festival emphasizes local agriculture and culinary traditions. Attendees can sample and purchase a wide selection of garlic varieties and garlic-infused products, meet local growers, and explore handcrafted goods from regional vendors. The farmer’s market offers seasonal fruits, vegetables, preserves and specialty items that reflect the island’s agricultural character.

Food trucks on site will serve a range of savory and sweet options prepared with fresh, local ingredients—perfect for enjoying between performances or while taking in the farm and seaside views. The festival’s setting at Paradise Within Farm provides ample space for picnics, family activities and casual strolling among stalls and displays.

Whether you’re a garlic enthusiast, a supporter of local food systems, or simply looking for live music in a rural, coastal setting, the Salt Spring Music and Garlic Festival offers a weekend of entertainment, food and community spirit. The relaxed atmosphere and curated vendor selection make it an ideal summer outing for island residents and visitors alike.
