Marriott Lets Guests Capture Tropical Getaways with Free GoPro HERO4 Rentals

Marriott is introducing a fresh perspective on the guest experience by offering GoPro HERO4 cameras at 17 resorts and hotels across the Caribbean and Latin America. This limited program lets guests borrow a GoPro HERO4 to capture their activities and share high-quality photos and videos of their stay.

“We live in a digital and social age,” said Craig S. Smith, president, Caribbean and Latin America at Marriott International. “Through this program at Marriott Hotels, we’re giving guests a fun way to tell their own travel story using the versatile and memory-making GoPro technology and immediately share their content with friends and family.”

Guests participating in the program can record excursions, water sports, cultural experiences, and everyday moments with a compact, durable camera designed for active travel. Staff provide basic instructions and lending details so guests can focus on creating authentic memories without the hassle of bringing extra gear.

Marriott invites guests to share their GoPro photos and videos on social media using the hashtags #GoPro, #travelbrilliantly, and #viajegenial. Content submitted with these tags may be curated and featured across Marriott International’s social channels and shown on the in-room entertainment systems at participating properties, giving travelers a chance to have their stories highlighted to a broader audience.

The program underscores Marriott’s aim to enhance the guest experience with practical, modern amenities that reflect how travelers capture and share their journeys today. By providing cameras on-site, Marriott removes a common barrier for guests who may not own an action camera but want to document unique moments in vivid detail.

Participating hotels and resorts offer the GoPro HERO4 on a loan basis and handle all logistics, including pickup, return, and care instructions. This arrangement allows guests to try advanced camera technology risk-free and see whether an action camera fits their travel style before deciding to purchase one for themselves.

In addition to encouraging creative storytelling, the initiative supports a community-driven approach to travel content. By collecting guest-generated photos and videos, Marriott amplifies authentic experiences from diverse destinations, helping future travelers discover activities and perspectives they might otherwise miss.

Whether guests are snorkeling in clear waters, exploring local markets, or capturing candid family moments, the GoPro HERO4 program aims to make it easy to preserve and share those memories. The combination of Marriott’s hospitality and accessible camera technology creates a seamless way to document trips with professional-looking results.

If you’re staying at one of the participating properties in the Caribbean and Latin America, ask the front desk about availability, lending terms, and any usage tips. Borrowing a GoPro can turn a great trip into a lasting visual story you can replay and share for years to come.
