To offer greater scheduling flexibility and more options for travelers, Cathay Pacific Airways is increasing its service from San Francisco this month by adding three weekly non-stop flights to Hong Kong. This expansion raises the total number of direct weekly flights between San Francisco and Hong Kong to 17.
The newly scheduled flight, CX893, will depart San Francisco for Hong Kong every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1:30 a.m., arriving the next morning at 6:40 a.m. The early arrival time is intended to facilitate seamless connections across Cathay Pacific’s Asian network — including destinations such as Singapore (SIN), Bangkok (BKK), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Jakarta (CGK) and more than 22 gateways in mainland China — without requiring long layovers in Hong Kong. The return service, CX892, departs Hong Kong at 6:45 p.m. local time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and lands in San Francisco at 4:30 p.m. the same day.
“Adding three weekly non-stop flights from San Francisco to Hong Kong reflects our commitment to expanding connectivity for the North American market and meeting growing demand across the wider San Francisco Bay Area,” said Tom Owen, senior vice president, Americas, Cathay Pacific.
All 17 weekly flights between San Francisco and Hong Kong are operated with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. These services feature a three-class cabin configuration on most days, with a four-cabin layout including first class available on Sundays.
