Qatar Airways will begin scheduled service to Las Vegas (LAS) on January 8, 2018.
The airline previously announced plans to launch the route and has now confirmed the official start date. Flights will operate four times per week using a Boeing 777-200LR. Departures from Doha (DOH) are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 8:05 a.m., arriving in Las Vegas at 1:00 p.m. local time. The return service departs Las Vegas at 2:55 p.m. and arrives back in Doha at 5:20 p.m. the following day.
This route makes Qatar Airways the first carrier from the Gulf region to establish regular, scheduled service to Las Vegas. It also becomes the airline’s 11th destination in the United States. The timing coincides with Qatar Airways’ 10th anniversary of flights to the U.S., marking a decade of growing connectivity between Doha and American cities.
Las Vegas is a major leisure and entertainment hub, attracting both leisure travelers and business visitors. Adding Las Vegas to Qatar Airways’ international network expands options for passengers traveling between North America, the Middle East and beyond. Operating from its Doha hub, the airline can offer connections to a wide range of onward destinations across Africa, Asia and Europe.
“Las Vegas is a thriving leisure destination and adding the city to our route map has been long overdue,” said His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive of Qatar Airways. He noted that expanding service to the western United States supports growing passenger demand from the East, facilitated by the carrier’s modern hub facilities in Doha.
Flights on the 777-200LR will provide a mix of cabins and onboard services designed for long-haul travelers, including lie-flat seats in business class and full-service economy seating. The frequency of four weekly flights gives travelers flexibility while allowing the airline to gauge demand and adjust capacity as needed in response to seasonal trends and passenger bookings.
For travelers, the new route means more direct options between Las Vegas and destinations across the Middle East, Africa and Asia without relying on multiple connections. The service also presents opportunities for leisure travelers to combine Las Vegas with stopovers in Doha, where passengers can explore cultural sites, shopping and dining before continuing to other regions.
As Qatar Airways expands its United States network, this addition reflects a broader strategy to strengthen transcontinental links and capture growing travel demand between North America and markets in the Middle East and Asia. The Las Vegas route complements the airline’s existing U.S. destinations and provides a direct gateway to a popular tourism and convention market on the West Coast.
Travelers interested in the new service can consult Qatar Airways for schedules, fare classes and booking options. The airline’s timetable for the new route offers convenient daytime arrivals and departures to help passengers connect smoothly to onward flights or ground transportation at both ends of the journey.
