Air Tahiti Expands Flight Schedule: More Routes and Seats

As part of a broader effort to improve access to Tahiti, Air Tahiti Nui has announced it will increase its services between Auckland (AKL) and Papeete (PPT) to three weekly flights starting December 10. The carrier will add a Tuesday service to its current Thursday and Sunday schedule from Auckland to Papeete, raising the total number of weekly Tahiti connections to five when combined with two codeshare flights operated with Air New Zealand. The additional services will be operated using Airbus A340-300 aircraft configured with 296 seats.

“We’ve seen consistent year-on-year growth in passengers travelling to Tahiti, which gives us the confidence to introduce this extra flight. Soon we’ll be flying to Tahiti every other day, providing guests with more choice and greater flexibility when planning their holiday,” said Mark Hutchinson, general manager for New Zealand and Australia at Air Tahiti Nui.

In addition to the schedule expansion, Air Tahiti Nui plans a full cabin reconfiguration of its Airbus A340-300 fleet. Upgrades will include more comfortable seating and an updated in-flight entertainment system to enhance the passenger experience.
