Qatar Expands Global Reach: New Projects, Airlines, and Investments

Qatar Airways has announced an expansion of its route network with a new service between Doha (DOH) and Larnaca (LCA), Cyprus, scheduled to begin next year. The airline will operate four weekly flights on the route starting April 29, 2014, using Airbus A320 aircraft configured with 12 business-class seats and 132 economy seats.

This Larnaca route is part of a broader growth plan that adds multiple destinations over the coming months. New services will include Hangzhou, China (HGH) from December 20; Sharjah (SHJ) and Dubai World Central (DWC) in the United Arab Emirates from March 1; Philadelphia (PHL) from April 2; Edinburgh (EDI) from May 28; Miami (MIA) from June 10; and Dallas (DFW) from July 1. Qatar Airways continues to expand its global presence while operating a modern fleet of 128 aircraft serving 133 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Asia Pacific and the Americas.
