American Airlines has partnered with popular bedding brand Casper to produce custom-designed bedding for its long-haul flights. The premium collection was created specifically for the airline’s in-flight sleep experience and includes a mattress pad, duvet, two pillows, a day blanket, a lumbar pillow, pajamas and slippers for travelers in premium cabins.
The mattress pad is engineered to smooth over seat seams and improve sleeping comfort on lie-flat and reclining seats. Two pillows are included with distinct designs for daytime support and nighttime rest. The slippers carry a playful wink motif that nods to the restful sleep the set aims to deliver.
Every piece in the collection was developed from the ground up for the unique conditions of air travel, drawing on sleep research and Casper’s existing award-winning product designs. Materials and construction focus on comfort, durability and ease of use in the cabin environment.
Casper has gained traction among younger travelers through direct-to-consumer distribution and contemporary product design. American Airlines expects the collaboration to appeal to a younger demographic and to offer a fresh alternative to the well-known bedding partnerships used by other carriers, such as Westin- and Saks-branded amenity programs.
The Casper bedding sets will begin appearing on American Airlines flights starting in December. Availability will vary by route and aircraft type and will be offered to customers seated in international and transcontinental first and business class, as well as certain premium economy seats, depending on the flight.
By tailoring bedding specifically for air travel and combining it with familiar consumer branding, American aims to enhance onboard rest and provide a more consistent sleep experience for premium passengers across its long-haul network.
