According to a recent survey by JD Power, Alaska Airlines and JetBlue Airways emerged as the top airlines in North America. Alaska Airlines ranked highest among traditional carriers, while JetBlue was named the leading low-cost carrier. The findings reflect the opinions of travelers who flew between April 2015 and March 2016.
J.D. Power surveyed more than 10,000 passengers who flew on the nine largest North American airlines, gathering feedback on ticket cost, in-flight services, baggage handling and the overall check-in and boarding experience. To qualify for the survey, airlines needed at least $1 billion in annual revenue and service to a minimum of 40 destinations across the United States and Canada.
The survey also showed that overall satisfaction with air travel has reached a 10-year high. Respondents reported increased satisfaction with recent airfare levels, seat legroom and baggage policies, indicating improvements in areas important to travelers.
