Meliá Campione, the fifth Italian property from Meliá Hotels & Resorts, has opened on the shores of Lake Ceresio. This intimate, 40-room boutique hotel sits on the border between southern Switzerland and northern Italy, roughly ten minutes from central Lugano, and offers a refined base for exploring the lake district and nearby alpine scenery.
Each guestroom and suite features floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase uninterrupted views of Lake Ceresio and the surrounding Alps. Rooms are equipped with modern conveniences including flat-screen TV, air conditioning and complimentary WiFi, providing a comfortable and contemporary stay whether visiting for leisure or business.
The hotel’s restaurant, Dolce Vita, focuses on Mediterranean-inspired cuisine prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Guests and local visitors can choose from a daily international buffet or an à la carte menu, complemented by a curated selection of wines and champagnes. The dining room’s panoramic lake views enhance the overall experience.
Additional amenities include a wellness and fitness center, scheduled to open later this year. The facility will feature a steam bath, sauna, well-equipped gym and a range of spa treatments designed for relaxation and rejuvenation after a day of sightseeing or outdoor activities.
“With such a beautiful location, halfway between Switzerland and Italy and on the shores of Ceresio Lake, we believe that Meliá Campione will be very popular with tourists looking to uncover the natural beauty of the Italian lakes and we look forward to welcoming our guests,” said Gabriel Escarrer, vice chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International.
Meliá Campione expands the brand’s presence in Italy, joining Meliá locations in Capri, Genoa, Milan and Rome. The company also has plans to open a sixth Italian property, expected to debut in Sicily.
To mark the opening, Meliá Campione is offering a special introductory rate of $191 per night for a double room, including breakfast. Reservations must be made by Oct. 31 for stays through Dec. 31.
