Ritz-Carlton Expands With New Luxury Resorts Worldwide

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, LLC announced plans in February 2014 to open a new property in Kyoto, Japan. The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto will be situated along the Kamogawa River and will offer 136 guestrooms, four dining venues, banquet and meeting facilities, and a full-service spa. Victor Clavell, vice president of Asia Pacific for The Ritz-Carlton, noted that Kyoto is one of Japan’s cultural gateways and emphasized the hotel’s intention to respect the city’s thousand-year history while contributing to the revival and growth of Japan’s tourism industry.

The company also revealed plans to launch a resort near Marrakech, Morocco, with an anticipated opening by September 2016. Located roughly 12 miles from Marrakech’s city center, that development is planned to include 60 suites and 20 private villas, aiming to blend luxury accommodations with the surrounding regional character.
