Wyndham Hotels Launch First Properties in Ecuador

Wyndham Hotel Group has expanded its Latin America presence with the opening of Wyndham Guayaquil in Ecuador. Situated downtown on the waterfront near the Simón Bolívar Convention Center, the 179-room hotel is the first Wyndham Hotels and Resorts property in Ecuador.

“Introducing our flagship brand in an emerging market like Ecuador — and in one of the country’s busiest business and travel hubs — is an important step for our company,” said Daniel del Olmo, senior vice president and managing director for Wyndham Hotel Group in Latin America. “Wyndham Guayaquil will offer travelers our customer-focused ‘Count On Me!’ service culture along with dependable amenities and services to ensure a comfortable stay.”

The new property adds to Wyndham Hotel Group’s footprint across the region. The company currently operates more than 13,600 rooms across 107 hotels in Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean under brands including Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Howard Johnson, Days Inn, Ramada, Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham, Wingate by Wyndham and TRYP by Wyndham.

Wyndham Guayaquil’s central waterfront location positions it well to serve both business visitors attending events at the nearby convention center and leisure travelers exploring the city. Guests can expect modern accommodations, a range of on-site amenities, and the brand’s standard service practices designed to make stays seamless and reliable.

The opening reflects Wyndham’s broader strategy to grow its upscale brand presence in Latin America, targeting key urban centers where demand from corporate travelers and regional tourism continues to rise. By introducing a full-service Wyndham property in Guayaquil, the group aims to offer a familiar international option for travelers seeking quality, consistency and convenient access to local business and cultural attractions.

As Wyndham continues to expand across the region, the addition of Wyndham Guayaquil strengthens its portfolio and provides travelers in Ecuador with a new upscale hotel choice backed by a global hospitality network.
