Thailand Launches Million Smiles Tourism Promotion Campaign

Coinciding with the International Day of Happiness and celebrating one million U.S. visitors to Thailand in 2017, the Tourism Authority of Thailand launched the Million Smiles campaign, with Operation Smile chosen as the charitable partner.

Visitors and fans are invited to post photos on Instagram that capture what makes them smile in Thailand, or pictures of themselves smiling while in the country. To enter the sweepstakes, participants must include the hashtag #ThaiMillionSmiles in the caption. Entries are accepted through May 21, with a winner announced on June 20. The grand prize is a trip for two to Thailand, including four nights at The Riverie by Katathani with daily breakfast and airfare. In addition, the Tourism Authority of Thailand will make a contribution to Operation Smile in the winner’s honor.

“Thailand is known worldwide as the ‘Land of Smiles,’ and TAT is proud to celebrate the joy our destination brings to visitors as well as to local communities,” said Charinya Kiatlapnachai, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s New York office. “We’re also pleased to highlight Operation Smile’s work helping young people show their beautiful smiles.”
