Fujifilm Launches 2016 Great American Road Trip Photo Tour

Fujifilm is sponsoring a once-in-a-lifetime road trip: a year-long adventure to visit, explore, and photograph every U.S. National Park within one year. The project is called The Greatest American Road Trip.

The team selected by Fujifilm includes travel and outdoor photographer Jonathan Irish and travel writer and former NASA creative product development lead Stefanie Payne. Together they will document the parks through photography, writing and video.

The plan is to visit 59 national parks in 52 weeks. Most of the trip will be made in an Airstream trailer, with flights used to reach remote and island parks. The itinerary follows the seasons to capture each park at its most striking moments. The journey begins near the southern tip of Florida with parks such as Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Park and Dry Tortugas National Park. Over the summer they plan to witness events like the Alaskan salmon run, move through mountain ranges in the fall, and finish the year among the Hawaiian Islands.

People who want to follow the trip can find park-by-park galleries, videos, photographs, quotes and stories about the journey and the people they meet on the project’s website and social media channels. These updates will showcase both the natural beauty of the parks and the experiences of the travelers.
