Exceptional new exhibits highlight the spring and summer season at Tel Aviv’s Eretz Israel Museum. The museum presents a rich program of international and local photography, illustration and cultural displays designed to engage visitors of all ages.
The centerpiece is Wildlife Photographer of the Year, a prestigious collection curated by the Natural History Museum in London in collaboration with BBC Worldwide. This exhibition presents 100 award-winning images that capture the diversity and drama of the global animal kingdom. Alongside it runs A Photo of Nature, a complementary display showcasing local wildlife photography by Israeli artists. That project is the result of a partnership between the Israel Nature and Parks Authority and the Israeli Nature Photography Association, bringing attention to native species and local conservation themes.
Also on view is The Illustrated Version, a survey of contemporary Israeli illustration that gathers the work of leading illustrators from the last five years. Displaying a wide range of techniques and styles, the show offers insight into current visual trends and storytelling methods used by illustrators working in books, magazines and digital media.
Opening July 15, Playing with the Wind presents a global collection of 200 kites that trace the kite’s role throughout history—as a toy, a tool in religious rituals, a device used in warfare, and a form of artistic and competitive expression. The exhibition is organized into categories that include historical kites, sport kites, artistic creations, mechanical designs and musical flying instruments. Films accompanying the display and a hands-on kite workshop for children add context and interactive learning opportunities.
The museum’s spring/summer season blends international acclaim with local creativity, offering visitors photojournalistic spectacle, artistic innovation and family-friendly activities. Whether you are drawn to award-winning wildlife photography, contemporary illustration or the cultural history of kites, the Eretz Israel Museum provides thoughtfully curated exhibitions that appeal to a wide audience.
