For parents teaching at home who need a breather, Austin Adventures offers a free educational resource: the Virtual Adventures for Kids series, now extended through May. These live virtual sessions give children an engaging, informative look at destinations around the world, blending learning with fun and providing a screen-time activity that can inspire future family trips.
The online program highlights a range of locations, from national parks to international cultural sites. Recent and upcoming virtual stops include South Dakota, Holland and the Grand Canyon, with each session designed to be visually appealing and educationally rich. Presentations introduce geography, history, wildlife and cultural insights in a format that’s easy for kids to follow.

Upcoming sessions offer themed explorations. On April 16, children can join “The Land of Fire,” a virtual visit to Costa Rica that covers volcanic landscapes and tropical ecosystems. On April 23, Life is Good Adventures will present “The Power of Positivity,” an uplifting session focused on mindset and resilience for young audiences. The series continues April 30 with “The Land of the Inca,” a journey to Peru that highlights ancient cultures, highland geography and historical sites.
These livestreams are suitable for family viewing or solo participation by kids who can log in independently. Each episode mixes vivid imagery, expert narration and kid-friendly explanations to keep children engaged while reinforcing curriculum topics such as natural science, world cultures and geography.
If you can’t attend a live session, many of the Virtual Adventures are recorded and made available to watch later. Recordings allow families to view at their convenience, revisit favorite segments, or use episodes as supplemental learning material between lessons and activities. Check the series page for the schedule and recorded episodes.
Virtual Adventures for Kids is an accessible, screen-based option that delivers educational content in an entertaining format. It’s a practical way to give parents a short break during the day while offering children a meaningful learning experience that could spark curiosity about new places and cultures.
