UnCruise Adventures is offering a series of Galápagos sailings in 2017, including a new nine-day itinerary that combines two nights in colonial Quito with a seven-day cruise around the Galápagos Islands.
The Quito portion begins with two nights at the boutique Casa Gangotena, a 31-room hotel located in the historic center. Guests can choose from guided walking tours that highlight Quito’s culture, cuisine and architecture, visits to notable museums and landmarks, and private dining experiences at select restaurants.
The island cruise departs from Isla Baltra and spans six nights and seven days aboard La Pinta, with a maximum of 48 guests. The itinerary includes natural highlights and island stops such as Seymour Norte, Isabela, Fernandina, Rábida, Santa Cruz and Floreana. Excursions are designed to showcase the unique wildlife and landscapes of the archipelago, with visits to the Charles Darwin Research Station, the geological and marine area at Punta Vicente Roca, and the distinctive red sand beach on Isla Rábida.
In addition to guided landings and wildlife viewing, the voyage offers opportunities for water-based activities and adventure pursuits suitable for a range of fitness levels. Onboard, travelers receive full-service hospitality, with all meals and beverages provided during the cruise.
Captain Dan Blanchard, CEO of UnCruise Adventures, commented on the combined itinerary: “Visiting the Galápagos Islands is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for most people. The wildlife encounters here are unforgettable, and combined with time in Quito, it’s a well-rounded tour of two must-see UNESCO sites.”
The nine-day experience includes two nights’ accommodations in Quito, round-trip flights between Quito and the Galápagos, national park and reserve entry fees, transfers, guided tours and activities, select meals in Quito, and all meals and drinks aboard La Pinta. The program is offered on ten departure dates in 2017: February 22, March 22, April 19, May 3, May 17, June 28, July 12, July 26, August 9 and October 4. Pricing for the combined Quito and Galápagos itinerary starts at $8,295 per person.
