Top Frequent-Flyer Programs to Join This Year

Based on a recent WalletHub study, Delta Air Lines’ SkyMiles program ranks first among this year’s frequent-flyer programs.

The personal finance site published its annual evaluation of air-travel factors, assessing everything from flight availability and destination variety to point-expiration policies and blackout dates.

The analysis also considered travelers’ frequency and how benefits apply across membership tiers. For those who fly moderately, Delta earned the top spot, while JetBlue provides the best value for frequent travelers.

Following Delta in the rankings were the loyalty programs of Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines and United Airlines.

WalletHub also offers a frequent-flyer calculator that lets visitors enter their annual air-travel spending to receive personalized recommendations on which programs best match their travel budget.
