Get ready to tee off in the tropics. The St. Maarten Golf Association is hosting the 22nd St. Maarten Open on April 26–27.

More than 80 golfers from St. Maarten/St. Martin, Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Curaçao, Guadeloupe, St. Kitts, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the United States and Europe will converge on the island to compete and support local causes.

The annual St. Maarten Open raises funds for community projects across the island. Past beneficiaries include the Art Saves Lives Foundation, Belvedere Community Association, Generation New Status STM Band, I Can Foundation, Imbali Center, Key to Freedom, L.C. Fleming Hospital, Mental Health Foundation, No Kidding with Our Kids Foundation, St. Maarten Medical Center and Repair of Broken Walls Community. The tournament also supports the SMGA Junior Golf program, which provides after-school instruction that introduces children to the fundamentals of golf while encouraging sportsmanship and healthy activity.

Membership in the St. Maarten Golf Association is open to island residents as well as visitors and part-time residents who frequent the island for business or leisure. This year’s event coincides with the annual St. Maarten Carnival, creating a lively backdrop for competition and community celebration.
