Taste Washington Kicks Off Its Season With Festive Launch Party

Seattle bound? Great timing — Taste Washington 2016 begins March 31 with the third annual Red & White Party at AQUA by El Gaucho. Guests will sample barrel selections, reserve bottlings and library vintages from 13 Washington State wineries, paired with small bites prepared by AQUA’s Executive Chef Wesley Hood. Many of the wines poured at the event will be available only at the party.

Taste Washington features more than 225 state wineries and over 65 restaurants from the Pacific Northwest, with events running March 31–April 3 across multiple Seattle venues. AQUA by El Gaucho sits on Pier 70 and provides scenic views of the Olympic Mountains, making it an ideal setting for the sunset party. Tickets are $175 per person, and attendees are encouraged to wear red and white attire.

On April 1, the New Vintage event runs from 7–10 p.m. at the Motif Seattle. The evening opens with a welcome rosé bar, live music from DJ Tina T and tasting bites from seven local restaurants. Guests will also enjoy dishes prepared and served by notable chefs, including Executive Chef Jason Stratton of Mamnoon; Chef de Cuisine Stuart Lane of Spinasse and Artusi; Chef Derek Ronspies of Le Petit Cochon; Executive Chef Steven Ariel of Trace; and Chef Shota Nakajima of Naka. Based on previous years, a strong turnout is expected, and tickets are currently on sale.
