Taj Group Launches Luxury Hotels in London — New Openings Guide

Taj Group has expanded its portfolio in London with the addition of two rebranded properties: St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, and Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences. Both hotels occupy prime locations in Westminster, offering refreshed services and elevated amenities while preserving their distinct character.

St. James’ Court, originally opened in 1902 near Buckingham Palace and Green Park, has been updated with modern conveniences designed to enhance guest comfort and convenience. New offerings include in-room check-in, access to an exclusive fleet of classic and contemporary vehicles, an elevated afternoon tea experience, and signature fragrances throughout the property. These touches emphasize the hotel’s heritage as an English classic while introducing contemporary service elements.

Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences has also introduced a range of luxury services tailored to the needs of discerning travelers. Guests can now enjoy dedicated butler service, optional Jaguar airport transfers, and exclusive horse-and-carriage rides for memorable arrivals or city tours. The property has announced plans to remodel its suites and add a redesigned lobby and reception lounge, a new restaurant, dedicated tea and library lounges, and a private dining area—further reinforcing its position as a residence-style luxury option in central London.

Deepa Harris, senior vice president of global sales and marketing for Taj Group, explained that the strong performance of their London properties motivated a more prominent brand presence in the U.K., an important source market for the chain. She noted that St. James’ Court is being positioned as an emblem of English tradition, while Taj 51 Buckingham Gate will focus on delivering authentic luxury through the warm, personalized service for which Taj is known.

The rebranding and service enhancements reflect Taj Group’s strategy of blending historical charm with contemporary luxury. Both properties are intended to serve different but complementary segments of luxury travelers: those seeking a classic English hotel experience and those preferring suite-style residences with bespoke services and privacy. The planned physical updates at Taj 51 Buckingham Gate will create new social and dining spaces for guests, while St. James’ Court’s refreshed amenities will streamline the guest journey and highlight curated experiences.

Together, these two properties strengthen Taj Group’s footprint in London, offering travelers a choice between a storied hotel with refined English character and a suites-and-residences model focused on individualized service and residential-style comfort. The updates aim to attract both international visitors and domestic guests seeking elevated hospitality in the heart of the city.
