Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has joined forces with alpine adventurer John Harlin to create a series of destination Vitality Guides. The Vitality program encourages travelers to stay active and mentally refreshed while away from home. These new Vitality Guides are digital, interactive maps highlighting notable attractions within walking distance of Swissôtel properties, designed to motivate guests to get outside and explore each destination.
“This year we wanted to celebrate Vitality in a fresh and engaging way and give our guests a practical tool to experience the Vitality concept year-round,” said Lilian Roten, vice president of the Swissôtel brand. “Our Vitality Guides let us curate a selection of interesting sites that help guests connect more deeply with the destinations they visit.”
In Chicago, the guide leads guests on a pleasant walk from Swissôtel across the Riverwalk, through New Eastside and Millennium Park, into the iconic Loop neighborhood, past the Chicago Public Library, along DuSable Harbor to Navy Pier, and culminating in the panoramic views from Wolf Point. The full route takes roughly 25 minutes on foot.
The initial rollout includes Vitality Guides for Amsterdam, Ankara, Bangkok, Berlin, Bremen, Chicago, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Foshan, Geneva, Istanbul, Kolkata, Moscow, Osaka, Shanghai, Singapore, Sochi, Sydney, Tallinn and Zurich. Additional destinations will be added over the coming months to expand the program and offer more local walking experiences to hotel guests.
The guides are designed for easy use on mobile devices and aim to blend local culture, outdoor activity and simple exploration. By focusing on walks and nearby attractions, Swissôtel and John Harlin hope to inspire travelers to discover neighborhood highlights at a relaxed pace while maintaining wellbeing during their trips.
As the Vitality Guides grow, guests can expect regularly updated routes and suggestions that reflect seasonal events, local highlights and quieter alternatives for those seeking a more tranquil experience. The program underscores Swissôtel’s commitment to thoughtful travel that supports both physical activity and meaningful engagement with each destination.
