The iconic Sunset Marquis Hotel is expanding its commitment to sustainability and guest convenience with the installation of seven Tesla High Power Connectors and two ClipperCreek J-1772 universal charging stations on property.
These high-capacity chargers deliver more than twice the power of most public stations, allowing guests who drive Tesla Model S vehicles — as well as drivers of other electric vehicles — to recharge conveniently while staying at the hotel at no additional charge. The installation supports a full daily recharge for many EVs, reducing range anxiety for guests and encouraging eco-conscious travel.
Dining patrons at the on-site Cavatina restaurant can take advantage of a quick charging option for $10, which includes valet parking. Tesla owners receive a complimentary one-hour charge with their visit, making it easy to top up before heading out for evening plans on the Sunset Strip.
The Tesla High Power Connectors are wired to a 240-volt circuit with increased amperage compared with standard outlets. At that rate, a Tesla Model S can gain up to 58 miles of range in a single hour and typically reach a full charge overnight in roughly five hours. The Model S is a long-range premium electric sedan, capable of approximately 265 miles per full charge, making these chargers particularly useful for both local guests and travelers continuing to longer distances.
Located steps from the Sunset Strip, Sunset Marquis Hotel features 152 suites and villas set within a 3.5-acre garden retreat. The property combines privacy and luxury with amenities that include indoor and al fresco dining, two outdoor heated pools, BAR 1200, and a full-service spa, creating a relaxing base for guests who also value modern, eco-friendly conveniences.
