Stay at The Ritz-Carlton Beijing: Luxury Hotel Near Wangfujing

Arrival and Check-In: Depending on the destination, I either improvise my arrival or arrange a driver. For China I prefer a pick-up, and The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing welcomed my wife and me in style with a Rolls-Royce. At arrival we were greeted by warm, professional staff and escorted to our room. For convenience, the front desk completed all check-in formalities directly in the guestroom.

Guest Quarters: We stayed in a club-level executive suite with city views. The suite offered a distinct living area separate from the bedroom, furnished with a sofa, coffee table, chairs and a large flat-screen TV. A mahogany desk sat on the far side of the living room, well equipped for remote work with accessible power outlets and converters. The setup allowed me to work while still glancing at the TV when needed.

The expansive bathroom featured extensive marble finishes, a 15-inch TV, an oversized tub, and a separate rain-shower, complemented by Asprey bath amenities.

A Nespresso machine was set on the marble counter in true Ritz fashion, with bottled water and cups provided—handy for coffee lovers and a welcome item on my travel checklist.

The bedroom included a king-sized bed and a broad hallway with a built-in, substantial armoire, providing comfortable storage and a restful sleep environment.

Services and Amenities: Staff were attentive and eager to assist. Although we had arranged our own driver and guide for sightseeing at the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Hutongs, the Temple of Heaven and Cundixia Village, the Ritz team was ready to support alternative arrangements and shared local recommendations.

The hotel houses several dining and lounge options, including the Ritz Bar, The Lounge and Davidoff Cigar Bar, along with Yu, Aroma and Barolo for international and regional cuisine. As a club-level guest, the lounge experience stood out: a broad selection of hot and cold dishes and appetizers that could easily serve as a full evening meal—ideal after a long day of sightseeing. The club staff were friendly and knowledgeable, willing to converse about local topics and helpful with practical needs such as printing boarding passes and business materials.

The Experience: Opened for the Beijing Olympics era, The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing blends local character with the brand’s signature refinement. The property’s attentive team and quality service make it a recommended stop for travelers seeking luxury in the city.
