The St. Regis San Francisco has unveiled a new sculpture titled “Arc of Peace,” created by Colorado-based artist Lorri Acott. This installation is the latest addition to the hotel’s curated art collection and is presented in partnership with Aerena Galleries & Gardens, which organizes a rotating selection of outdoor sculptures for the luxury property.
Acott describes peace as an active intention rather than merely the absence of conflict. “Peace is not necessarily the absence of war or something we need to fight for,” she says. “It is something that can be created with our intentions and sent out into the world through our actions and interactions with each other and ourselves. (The sculpture’s) long legs, as in all my work, inspire us to rise above life’s challenges, as her large feet remind us to stay grounded.”

“Arc of Peace” depicts a figure releasing an arc of bronze origami cranes, a motif that symbolizes peace, hope and the fulfillment of positive intentions. The flowing arrangement of cranes conveys motion and uplift, while the human figure’s elongated proportions—an element common in Acott’s oeuvre—suggest resilience and an aspiration to transcend everyday struggles.
Lorri Acott’s impressionistic figurative sculptures are included in numerous public and private collections across the United States and internationally. Her work is known for forging emotional connections with viewers, and several permanent installations by Acott are located in states such as Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
Located in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood, The St. Regis is a destination for arts and culture enthusiasts. In addition to its rotating outdoor sculpture program and in-house collection, the hotel sits near significant cultural institutions, including the Museum of the African Diaspora, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, making it well-positioned for visitors seeking an immersive arts experience.
With “Arc of Peace,” The St. Regis San Francisco and Aerena Galleries & Gardens continue to expand the hotel’s public art presence, offering guests and passersby a contemplative work that blends symbolic meaning with Acott’s signature figurative style.
