St. Regis Opens New Luxury Resort in Mauritius, Expanding Into Africa

The opening of the St. Regis Mauritius Resort marks the celebrated luxury brand’s first property in Africa. Situated on the southwestern tip of Mauritius, the resort faces the powdery white sands of Le Morne, a dramatic peninsula and UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its natural beauty and cultural significance.

Architectural design for the resort was led by Stauch Vorster Architects, while interiors were created by Trevor Julius of the design studio dsgn. Evoking the elegance of a Victorian manor, the property blends colonial-inspired details with contemporary comforts across its 172 guest rooms and suites.

Dining at the resort features a range of refined options, including Simply India, led by Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar, offering thoughtfully prepared cuisine that reflects regional flavours with modern technique. Guests can also enjoy other restaurant and bar venues that showcase fresh local ingredients and island-inspired menus.

The resort is home to the first Iridium Spa, bringing the St. Regis signature spa experience to Mauritius. The spa provides a variety of treatments and wellness programmes designed to relax and rejuvenate, set within tranquil spaces that complement the coastal surroundings.

Beyond its accommodations and dining, the St. Regis Mauritius Resort offers a host of leisure and recreational amenities. Guests can take advantage of pristine beachfront access for swimming and sunbathing, water sports, and curated excursions to explore the Le Morne peninsula and nearby natural attractions. The resort also caters to families with dedicated activities and services, while personalised butler service reflects the St. Regis tradition of attentive hospitality.

With its striking location, refined design, and curated guest experiences, the St. Regis Mauritius Resort presents a luxury island retreat that celebrates the landscape and cultural heritage of Mauritius while delivering contemporary comforts and distinguished service.
